Bamboo ink stylus amazon windows#
All 3rd party pens, able to utilize windows ink, should also work on all devices. It's why you can use all surface pens across surface devices (that were made within the last few years). This is a real head scratcher for me since all surface devices (laptops, tablets, 2-in-1s) use windows ink. To my knowledge, I had all updates and the problem still happened.

Because it's so inconsistent, I can't rule out, or in, any driver issues. After I tested the pen on my SB2 and brought it back to my SB3, the issue disappeared and has stayed gone. This means that there is another problem with Wacom pens or the SB3īut here's the catch. Since at 25% dips the line still jumps, pressure is not the issue.Which would mean that it is still possible that this behavior could be caused by the surface registering 0 pressure until the next "frame" or whatever (IDK how the screen detects pens). When the line jumped and graph showed no dips, it was because the dip lasted for too short of a time to be recorded. This inconsistently leads me to believe that one of two things are happening: Still, even with 25%, the line jumped as if I had lifted the pen. Note that when these dips occurred, the pressure didn't read 0%, rather it went to about 25% when I was applying a relatively steady stream of 50% pressure. The graph, at times, showed dips (lasting for milliseconds) and, at other times, showed "accurate" pressure readings (accurate compared to my SB2 test).

I went into the surface app, which shows a handy graph of what the surface is registering, and I was in awe with what I saw: Absolutely nothing useful. Within a single stroke, the pen would register no input, turning my straight line into a dotted line. However, at some point the pen noped out and I was stuck having "phantom pen lift". No different from my SB2 (13in) experience.

I know that you're thinking about the Plus model, but after hearing my experience with an older model, I think it should help your decision (kind of). My Current Devices: Surface Book 3 (13in) & Wacom Bamboo Ink (1st Gen) I also remember a similar post, but I can't find it, so if any of you can find it, please link :) After the purchase, and some admittedly limited use, I thought I should give you guys my findings.

But what can you do, I needed the upgrade since my SB2 is breaking.

So I recently bought the SB3 knowing about it's absence in the compatibility list and also having read this post. Let them know if it worked, say 'thank you', and give them an upvote!
